IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Henry "Hank" N.
Oleson
April 25, 1931 – March 10, 2026
Henry "Hank" N. Oleson passed away March 10, 2026 after his battle with stage 4 cancer.
Hank was born April 25, 1931 in Port Edwards, WI to Henry and Emma (Jensen) Oleson Sr. After graduating from John Edwards High School he went to work in the Port Edwards paper mill until being drafted into the Army, serving in Korea from 1951 to 1953. In 1954 he married his one and only love Angeline (Herms) in Nekoosa, WI. In 1968 they moved to Pittsville where they resided until retiring.
After Hank retired from the mill they moved to Mercer, WI where they enjoyed life on the lake, fishing, hosting their annual pig roast and snowmobiling. Later they wintered in Mesa, AZ where they made many new friends and enjoyed taking road trips.
Anyone who knew Hank knew he cherished Angie, always had a joke or two and enjoyed going to the casino. He was especially proud to be a veteran and was happy to have a stone at the Highground and Pittsville Veterans memorial.
Hank served on the board of the Lake of the Falls association and was a life member of the VFW in Mercer and a member of the Legion in Pittsville.
Hank is survived by his wife of 71 years, Angeline, daughters Diane (Steve O'Dell) and Laura (John Pichler), and son Robert (Pamula). He is further survived by grandchildren Nicole (Jim) Schill, Jesse (Jolene) Schiller, Patrick (Kaitlin) Schiller, Amber Crawford, Nathan Oleson (Jessie) and Casey (Katie) Oleson, great grandchildren Brett (Molly), Jared, Jacob, Sawyer, Kaden, Jenna, Kaylee, Emilie, Orion, Bodhi, brother Harold (Karen) Oleson and many nieces and nephews.
Hank is preceded in death by his parents, in laws William and Helena Herms, son in law Jonathon Schiller, sisters and brothers in law Elaine and Gerald Cattanach, LaVerne and Edwin Kauth and brother and sister in law Richard and Janet Oleson and brother and sister in law Francis and Charlotte Herms.
There will be a private family service with burial in St. Joachims Cemetery.
The family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Compassus, especially Khyla and the dedicated nurses at the House of Dove.
