Helen E. Moberg, 64, of Nekoosa, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Marshfield Medical Center in Neillsville.
Helen was born on October 8, 1956 in Illinois, to Willard and Hennie Ericson. She attended the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater and had been employed as an ad consultant for Wisconsin Woodlands Magazine.
She was united in marriage to Edwin R. Moberg on August 29, 1986. Helen enjoyed being outdoors with nature. She worked side by side with Ed to develop their acreage into the Moberg Tree Farm. Together they managed their farm from the yearly spring plantings to the harvesting of their mature trees, culminating with the satisfaction of seeing their logs delivered to a local paper mill.
She became an expert in the art of making maple syrup. Every year she and Ed would collect the sap from their trees and boil it into the sweet syrup.
Helen was an avid bicyclist. She and Ed enjoyed biking the many bike trails throughout the state of Wisconsin. She especially enjoyed the trails in Vilas County.
During the summer Helen could be found tending her flower and vegetable gardens. She used her photography skills to capture the beauty found within her gardens and on their land.
Helen's gentle personality and contagious smile will be missed by all that knew her.
She is lovingly survived by her husband Ed. She is also survived by her brother Richard (Sue) Ericson of New Port, Washington and nephews, Randy Ericson and Gregory Ericson. She is further survived by her brother- and sister-in-law, Ron (Mitzi) Feutz of Wisconsin Rapids and nephews, Christian (Angie) Feutz and Nathan Feutz.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her father- and mother-in-law, Raymond and Eleanore Moberg.
There will be no public service at this time.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to Wisconsin Woodland Owners Association, P.O. Box 285, Stevens Point, WI 54481.
