Helen L. Kuehner, 78, of Marshfield, went to her eternal rest surrounded by family, on Saturday, October 13, 2012, at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. Helen was born on December 3, 1933, in Wheaton, MO, to Fred and Ruth (Chastain) Browning. She was raised in southwest Missouri after spending her very early years in Williamsport, PA, where her father played semi-professional baseball. As a young child, she traveled extensively with her parents. A devoted daughter, Helen cared for her mother after Ruth's retirement and subsequent move to Marshfield. Helen graduated high school in 1952 and later attended Drury College (now Drury University) in Springfield, MO. She trained and worked as a nurse at St. John's Hospital, also in Springfield. Thereafter she worked as a nurse in St. Louis, Missouri, where she met and married Marvin Kuehner. Helen lovingly helped him raise his 3 sons, Mark, Jon and Daryl. Their union was also blessed with 6 children. They later divorced. Helen's passion was her children and grandchildren – all of whom she loved "big bunches". Her other interests included singing, classical music, Broadway musicals, fine art, Fox News and, of course, the Minnesota Vikings. Helen is survived by her children, Kathryn (Dave) Cummings of Marshfield, Michael (Debbie) Kuehner of Seattle, WA, David (Wendi) Kuehner of Winona, MN, Steven (Wanda) Kuehner of Four Oaks, NC, Karolyn (Larry Gray) Kuehner of Chicago, IL, Daniel (Rebecca) Kuehner of Chicago, IL; 12 grandchildren, Lee (Alesha) Cummings, Cynthia Kuehner, Joshua Kuehner, Christian Kuehner, Soffia Kuehner Gray, Saerina Kuehner, Sydney Kuehner, Benjamin Kuehner, Addie Kuehner, Elizabeth Kuehner, Sabrina Kuehner, and Alaina Kuehner. She is also survived by 2 great-grandchildren, Mason and Makaylyn Cummings. Helen was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be from 4-6 pm Monday, October 15, at the Rembs Funeral Home in Marshfield. Private burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Marshfield. Condolences may be sent online to www.rembsfh.com.
