Obituary

Hattie S. Jaromin, 93 of City Point passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Strawberry Lane Medical & Rehabilitation Center in Wisconsin Rapids. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be 11am Saturday, December 27, 2014 at St. Joachim's Catholic Church in Pittsville with Fr. Robert Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Martyrs' Cemetery in City Point. Family will gather at the church on Saturday from 9:30am until time of the service. Buchanan/Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements. Hattie was born on August 30, 1921 in City Point to Paul and Anna (Mzur) Jagielo, one of 10 children. Growing up in City Point, she moved to Milwaukee and then to Chicago where she married Ed Jaromin at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church on April 26, 1947 in Chicago. They moved back to City Point where Ed operated his moss marsh. Hattie raised two foster children, Mary and David Novacek. She devoted most of her life to being a loving homemaker and a wonderful cook. She was an active member of Martyrs' Chapel, City Point until residing with her foster son & wife David and Karen in Babcock at which time she was a member of St. Joachim's Catholic Church in Pittsville. Hattie was a wonderful mother, wife, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her children, Mary Goyette, of Onalaska and David (Karen) Novacek of Babcock, one brother Peter Jagielo of City Point. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Mike (Carrie) Goyette, John (Kara) Goyette, Don Novacek, Lance Martinez, Skip Jones and Ricci (Wendee) Martinez; great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ed in 1996, granddaughter Kristina Novacek, son-in-law Harold Goyette, 4 brothers, Joe, Fred, Frank and John Jagielo; 4 sisters, Valerie Mazurek, Josie Nych, Ann Baldwin and Rose Zdun.
