Obituary

Harry C. Swink, Jr., 81, Marshfield, passed away peacefully at Marshfield Medical Center-Weston on December 22, 2020 with his family at his bedside. Harry was born on July 14, 1939 in Hagerstown, Maryland to Harry Sr. and Florence (Tenney) Swink. On July 29, 1967, he married Catherine Ann Pizzino at St. John's Lutheran Church, Hagerstown, Maryland. July 19, 1973 their beautiful daughter and only child was born. Heather was the love of his life; he was so proud of her and cherished their times together. He served in the United States Air force from 1958-1962, stationed in Samsun, Turkey until his discharge. He graduated from North High School in Hagerstown, Maryland-class of 1957. He continued his education after serving in the Air Force at Shepherd's University, Shepherdstown, West Virginia graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Business and Economics-1967. He worked in Aerospace, Fairchild Industries 1967-1984 in Hagerstown, Maryland as Senior Production Planner Project Administrator. After leaving Maryland, Harry and Cathy moved to York, Pennsylvania where he worked at General Defense Corporation as a Program Manager. In 1992, Harry and Cathy moved to Marshfield, Wisconsin when Cathy accepted a nursing position and Harry worked for Younkers Department Store for many years. After he retired, he worked part time for V & H Automotive driving the daily shuttle and on longer pickups. Harry loved life, loved meeting new people, and talking with them; he never met a stranger. He was a big sports fan, loved his Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians, and Maryland Terps basketball. Harry loved playing tennis, walking, and riding his bike. He was an enthusiast of trains and anything to do with weather. Most of all he loved people and spending time with family. He is survived by his wife Cathy, daughter Heather (Kiersznowski); son-in-law David; granddaughters, Deirdre and Rhiannon and grandson, Connor (his buddy). Several nieces, Connie (Kauffman) New York, Elise (Cesar) New York, and nephew David Wysong, Pennsylvania. Sister-in-law Sue (Cregan) West Virginia, Brother-in-law Larry Pizzino, Maryland and many great nieces and and great, great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, father & brother. A memorial service will be held on January 11, 2021 at 11:00 am, Christ Lutheran Church, 1208 West 14th Street, Marshfield, WI. The family will meet guests one hour prior to service. Pastor Andrew Belt will officiate. Arrangements are being made by Rembs funeral home. The family would like to thank all the people who have been there for them during this time of sorrow, A special thank you to Dorothy Berg who has always been there when needed.
