Harold G. “Coke” Kohlbeck, 84, passed away peacefully the morning of Wednesday June 24, 2026 at the House of the Dove Hospice with his family at his side.
A funeral service will be held at 3pm on Monday, June 29, 2026 at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield with Deacon Nate Mueller officiating. A livestream of the service will be available on Coke’s obituary page at www.rembsfh.com. The visitation will follow until 7pm. Interment will be at a later date.
Born on September 7, 1941, in Marshfield, Wisconsin, Harold lived a life defined by hard work, service, and devotion to his family and community. Affectionately known as “Coke” since the age of three, a nickname that stayed with him throughout his entire life, he was known and loved by generations of family, friends, customers, and fellow veterans.
Harold was the beloved son of the late Wenzel and Laura Kohlbeck. He proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army. Following his military service, he remained dedicated to supporting fellow veterans and his community through his involvement with the American Legion. He served as Commander of the Marshfield American Legion, a position that reflected his patriotism, leadership, and commitment to helping others.
Harold was also an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Brewers. He enjoyed following his favorite teams through the years and rarely missed an opportunity to cheer them on. Whether celebrating victories or enduring tough seasons, his loyalty to Wisconsin sports never wavered.
A skilled craftsman and hardworking entrepreneur, Harold owned and operated Kohlbeck Upholstery for most of his working life. Through his business, he earned a reputation for quality workmanship, honesty, and attention to detail. He took great pride in his craft and in serving the many customers who became friends over the years. He continued his work until retirement, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and craftsmanship that will be remembered by many throughout the community. Whether they knew him as Harold or simply as “Coke,” they knew a man whose life was marked by loyalty and kindness.
Harold was a devoted husband to his wife, Barbara, and a loving father to his four sons: Doug (Carol), Mike (Carolyn), Greg (Diane), and Ryan. He leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Candice, Zachary, Amanda, Erin, Jack, Taylor, and Joe, as well as his beloved great-grandchildren, Calvin, Cece, Tucker, and Cooper, who brought him tremendous joy and pride.
Harold is also survived by his sisters, Janet Diers, Marilyn (Paul) Zimmerman, and Patti VerKilen. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wenzel and Laura Kohlbeck, siblings, Donna, Roger, and Bob, and inlaws Al Diers, Dennis Tessmer, and Tom VerKilen.
Family was the cornerstone of his life, and he cherished every opportunity to spend time with those he loved.
Harold’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
