IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Hans C.
Lind
December 12, 1954 – June 12, 2025
Hans C. Lind, age 70, Stevens Point, passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at House of the Dove, Marshfield.
Hans was born on December 12, 1954, in Stevens Point, to Orville and Enid (Dew) Lind. He was employed at Consolidated Papers River Division, Stevens Point, where he met his future wife, and where he retired after 36 years. He was united in marriage to Karen J. Kranski on May 25, 1983.
As a kid growing up on the west side of Stevens Point, Hans had fond memories of pick-up football and playing army with the neighborhood. They scavenged to "bums jungle" near the black bridge all the way to the spillway on West River Drive. Bums jungle was where travelers hopped the train or got off and camped, then leaving cans of beans scattered. Ice skating came naturally as Mead Park had a rink flooded to the river. That passion followed through his life as he played hockey for over 50 years. He was a 1973 graduate of Stevens Point Area Senior High School, where his hockey team was the first to letter, a proud memory. He enjoyed teaching his kids to skate and even played with Parker on the Senior Men's team in town and enjoyed many trips to Bayfield, Minnesota North Stars, and Wild Hockey Games. He enjoyed following the Milwaukee Admirals, the Minnesota Twins and Vikings, and visiting the Toronto Hockey Hall of Fame. He was a voracious reader his entire life and a history buff. Another pass time was painting miniature solder models and creating dioramas appropriate to them with amazing detail.
He is survived by his wife, Karen, and their children, a son, Parker Lind, and his daughter, Hazel Lind, a granddaughter; and a daughter, Taylor Lind (Eric Anderson), all of Stevens Point. He is also survived by sisters, Cheryl Lind (Don Weiler) of Wisconsin Rapids, Bronwyn Lind (Jeff Andrews) of Portland, Oregon, a nephew, Nathanael Lind (Kristin Tufo Lind) and grandnephew Calvin Lind of Portland, Oregon.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will celebrate his life privately.
