Gwendolyn F. Guralski, 85, of Marshfield passed away early the morning of Wednesday, October 7th, 2026 at the Marshfield Medical Center following a brief illness.
A Celebration of her life will be held at 11am, Wednesday, October 14th at the Rembs Celebration Center followed by a reception. Relatives and friends are welcome starting at 10:30 Wednesday morning. Interment will be later in Restlawn Memorial Park in Wausau.
Gwendolyn was born October 27, 1940, in Wausau to Arthur and Oretta (Prott) King. She was the youngest of four children and the couple’s only daughter. Gwen attended local schools and graduated from Wausau High School in 1959. On May 13, 1961, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Guralski at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Wausau. Together, they raised three daughters.
In 1964, shortly before the birth of their second daughter, Gwen and her husband moved their family to Marshfield, where she raised her daughters and found seasonal work at Figi’s after her youngest had started school. Later she worked as a Health Unit Clerk at St. Joseph Hospital. She was also a member of the Newcomers Club and enjoyed playing bridge, becoming an accomplished and enthusiastic player. Later in life, Gwen became fondly known for the “mug mats,” or coasters, that she lovingly knitted and shared with family and friends. She was also an avid fan of Willie Nelson and attended his concerts whenever she had a chance. Most of all she loved being a mom & grandma and enjoyed time with her family.
Gwendolyn is lovingly survived by her husband of 65 years: Ken, and their daughters: Cynthia (Kurt) Johnson, Kelly (Daryl) Kleine, and Tracy (Steve) Schroeder. She is further survived by five grandchildren: Tiffany Kleine, Haily (Patrick) Gotham, Dylan (Kaila) Schroeder, Kayleigh (Cody) Gable, and Destiny Schroeder; and nine great-grandchildren: Jace, Kylen, Jaelyn, Jameson, Robin, Allison, Violet, Carter, & Willow.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers: Arthur, Vernon, and Bruce King; parents-in-law Leonard & Margaret Guralski; and brother-in-law Perry Guralski.
