Glenn H. Brost, 66, Marshfield, died on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 in the emergency room of Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Marshfield. Rev. Sebastian Venni will officiate and music will be provided by Sacred Heart Church Funeral Choir. The Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree Assembly will form a guard of honor at the service. Burial will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery where military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post 54. The visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Rembs Funeral Home and on Wednesday from 9:30 am until service time at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A combined Sacred Heart Parish and Knights of Columbus rosary service will be held on Tuesday at 6:30 pm at the funeral home. Glenn was born on March 21, 1946 in Marshfield, to Lawrence and Viola (Patrie) Brost. He attended Sacred Heart Parochial School and was a 1964 graduate of Columbus High School, both in Marshfield. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving during the Viet Nam War from 1965 until his honorable discharge in 1969. He was united in marriage to Kathleen M. Poeschl on April 17, 1967 at St. John's Catholic Church, Marshfield. Glenn had been employed at Wisconsin Gas Company which later became WE Energies for 37 years until his retirement. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus John Eisen Council #1799, of which he served as historian, and the Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree Assembly. He was a volunteer at St. Vincent de Paul. Glenn enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, camping, and attending family sporting and music events. He also enjoyed canoeing with his sons, grandsons and brother and yearly fishing trips to Canada with his friends. He is survived by his wife, Kathy, and their 3 children and 11 grandchildren, Frances (Kenneth) Felckowski of Plover, and their children, Ben, Mac and Emma; Glenn (Charlotte) Brost, Jr. of Loyal, and their children, Isaac, Olivia, Patience, Ralph Henry, Samuel and Linus; and Stephen (Tiffany) Brost of Eagle River and their children, Kaydence and Gavyn. He is also survived by a brother, Derold (Virjean) Brost of Marshfield, and 3 sisters, Mary (Patrick) McDaniel of Fitchburg, Gail (DeWayne) Mathes of Onalaska, and Lona Buddhu of Cedar Grove, MN and a stepbrother, Randy (Marsha) Hass of Florida.
