Obituary

Gladys Pawlowski (nee) Kara entered eternal life on May 23, 2015 at the House of the Dove in Marshfield. Wadyslawa (her Polish Christian name) was born to Polish immigrants in Chicago, Il on November 26, 1917. She was the youngest of seven children. Gladys attended the Holy Innocents parochial school run by the Felician sisters. The nuns utilized her artistic talents throughout her school years. In her young adult years Gladys moved to Wisconsin to farm with her mother and two brothers. She met and later married Vincent Pawlowski. They farmed in Taylor County. They had two children. Her hobbies were cooking and baking and she loved to share her bounty with others, from birthday celebrations to sharing with people in need. She was a 4-H mother, a member of St. Stanislaus Altar Society, and a member of the Taylor County Homemakers. Special interests included reading. At a very early age she would sneak to the Chicago library if she was not accompanied by one of her siblings. She read an average of a book a week throughout her life. She had a passion for murder mysteries. She also loved the challenge of a good cross-word puzzle. She enjoyed people and felt blessed to be employed as a CNA. Mom loved her family, her community, her God and lived her life accordingly. She thought of herself as nothing special but in reality the opposite was true. She was passionate, dynamic, and full of creative energy. She felt she was blessed to have lived both in the big city as well as the country. She is survived by her twins Peg (Herb) Endries of Marshfield and Paul (Barb) Pawlowski of Rothschild, WI. She is also survived by grandchildren Megan (Angel) McKnight, Anthony (Krystle) Endries, Terry (Heather) Endries, Anne Pawlowski; Michael (Lara) Endries. Her great-grandchildren include Haley and Lexie McKnight, Eliana Dabipi, William and Vincent Endries. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent, along with her parents Aniela and Adam Kara. She also joins her six siblings in eternal life. They include Stephanie Lewandowski, John Kara, Bernice Jalowitz, Frank Kara, Josephine Puzerewski, and Stanley Kara. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 29, 2015 at 10:30 AM at St. John's Catholic Church in Marshfield, WI with Fr. Sam Martin officiating. Music will be provided by Cindy Penker and St. John's Funeral Choir. Visitation at the church will start at 9:30 AM Friday until the time of the service. A meal of celebration of life will be held at Peg and Herb Endries residence after burial. The family would especially like to thank Ministry Health Care, Palliative Care Team and the House of The Dove staff for their quality care. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements. Condolences may be sent online to www.rembsfh.com
