Gertrude J. Stadler, 84 of Marshfield died on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at the Marshfield Care Center. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at St. Johns Catholic Church. Rev. Samuel Martin will officiate and Suzanne Golden will be the organist for St. Johns Church Funeral Choir. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Marshfield. The family will receive relatives and friends at the church from 9:30 am Wednesday until time of the services.St. John's Parish Council of Catholic Women rosary service will be held on Wednesday at 10:10 am at St. John's Church. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements. Gertrude was born on March 24, 1927 in Marshfield to George and Mary (Raeder) Stadler and was a 1945 graduate of Marshfield Senior High School. She then attended St. Scholastica College in Duluth where she received her bachelors and masters degrees. She taught at a girls academy in Beaverville, Illinois for twenty three years. She then returned to Marshfield and taught school at St. Johns Parochial School and later became secretary and bookkeeper at St. Johns Parish Church for many years until her retirement. She was a member of St. Johns Parish Council of Catholic Women and St. Johns Church Choir. She also was a Eucharistic minister at St. Josephs Hospital. She is survived by two sisters, Ruth Shookman of Marshfield and Barbara Love of Park Forest, IL. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, William, John and David Stadler and a sister, Mary Kachelmyer.
