Gerald L.
Dieringer
March 11, 1966 – May 17, 2026
Gerald Lawrence Dieringer passed away unexpectedly on May 17, 2026 in the ER of Marshfield Medical with his wife by his side. He was fighting a battle with an ugly monster known around the world as cancer, and he was winning. But, his body had a moment, suddenly spiked a fever, and in a blink, succumbed to his enemy.
Better known as "Jerry", he was born on March 11, 1966 to Lawrence and RoseMary (Ertl) Dieringer.
Growing up on the family farm on the outskirts of Marshfield, Wisconsin, Jerry attended Sacred Heart Catholic School and graduated from Marshfield Senior High in 1984. He immediately started working for his dad driving milk truck.
Jerry also possessed the kind of talent and passion that involved tinkering and wrenching on things. He loved working on engines and motors plus more, just figuring out how anything operated. Because of this his dad gave him the nickname "Grease". That passion led to bigger engines and which then led to racing. Four wheelers, snowmobiles and cars were his "fix" when it came to speed. Jerry went on to building himself a stockcar and won many heat races and a few championships in his class too. Jerry had so many interests in life from bowling and achieving that perfect score of 300 a few times, enjoying anything trains and model trains, to cheering on the Packers, watching Badger basketball and Brewer baseball and not to forget... playing tuba in the family polka band.
Jerry was a naturally happy go lucky guy that was able to make friends easily wherever he went. He was also known as the "life of the party" and hosted countless parties, in his teeny tiny bachelor trailer house, that are still reminisced.
A young high school girl named Cortney Rekis attended one of those many parties and Jerry took notice, and his brother Gary eventually introduced them. Jerry pursued and swept Cortney off her feet and wasting no time, quickly made her his wife on October 21, 1989.
Together, Jerry and Cortney created the perfect recipe of making five extremely beautiful and talented daughters that include: Victoria (Josh) Grorich, twin daughters Miranda (Brayden) DeVries and Marissa (James) Newkirk followed by Cierra Dieringer and Rhya Dieringer. Jerry once expressed that he wished he had a son, and Cortney quickly replied with "your daughters will choose them for you" and he was content with that. Jerry's family was his world and he did everything he could to provide them with a good life, being empowered by his strong work ethic, he did. He did his best to attend as many activities his girls were in from softball and basketball to plays, band concerts and dance recitals. He was always a good sport about being a girl dad and often received his hair styled and make up done along with bright pink manicures proudly executed by his little ladies. Jerry was often heard telling anyone a proud story of girls and their accomplishments.
Jerry also went along with Cortney's passion of horses and learned to ride as well. He quickly found himself submerged in junior rodeo life that he wholeheartedly embraced. Together him, Cortney and the girls traveled, all over the state and out of the state, attending rodeos where they made countless friends everywhere they went. He even found himself going to the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, twice.
Jerry eventually took over his father's trucking business(hauling milk from farm to cheese factory). Starting with Beatrice Cheese in Marshfield and then in 1996 switched over to Mullins Cheese Inc in Knowlton, Wisconsin. Mullins was more than a company to work with, they were a family Jerry thought the world of and deeply respected. His wife Cortney, also joined in driving milk trucks and together they ran a business that will continue.
Jerry was the oldest son and middle child of seven children that include: Jean (Roger) Nitschke, Connie (Kerry) Kaiser, JoAnn (Scott) Hudak, Gary (Cindy) Dieringer, Karen (Greg) Purgett, and Alan (Kristy) Dieringer.
Jerry loved being around people especially his family. He adored all his "chosen" boys. And his family will continue on with his beautiful grand children that include: Terrah, Everlyn, Emmett, Killian and baby girl Newkirk that is expected to arrive in August.
Jerry will be remembered as a guy: willing to lend a hand, meet strangers and leave as friends, never pass up a round of Crown Whiskey, and his big hearty laugh. He will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him.
