George W. Christensen, 95 of Marshfield died on Friday, April 13, 2012 at the Palliative Care Unit at Ministry St. Joseph' s Hospital. Funeral services will be 11am Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at Rembs Funeral Home with Fr. Jim Logan officiating. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery with military rites being conducted by the American Legion Post # 54 of Marshfield. Visitations will be from 10am Tuesday at the Funeral Home until time of service. George was born on August 10, 1916 in Marshfield to Peter and Eva (Engels) Christensen. He was married to Germaine F. Schmitt-Blaisdell on May 30, 1958 in Janesville. George was a veteran of World War II. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife Germaine of Marshfield, two daughters Sharon (Charles) Morrill of Marshfield and Barbara (Jeris) Backus of Davenport, FL; four grandchildren, LeeAnn Beltran, Gina Ratsch, Daniel (LeeAnn) Morrill, Jerra Backus and numerous great grandchildren. George is further survived by two sisters, Leone Rondorf and Shirley (James) Schmitt both of Marshfield.
