Genevieve L. Lobner, 87, formerly of Sherry and Marshfield, died on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at the Retirement Community of Nekoosa where she had resided for six years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, March 3, 2014, at St. Kilian's Catholic Church, Blenker, with Rev. Barnabas Kyea officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery and grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family. Genevieve was born on January 12, 1927 in Blenker, to Joseph S. and Anna (Grassl) Koller and attended St. Kilian's Parochial School. As an adult she obtained her G.E.D. She was united in marriage to Robert A. Lobner on May 21, 1947, at St. Kilian's Catholic Church. He died on February 7, 2005. The Lobners farmed in the Town of Sherry. In addition to raising her family Genevieve worked in home health care and as a cook at St. Joseph's Hospital. She also was the nutrition site Coordinator for the Wood County Department of Aging. She was a lifelong member of St. Kilian's Catholic Church and its Parish Council of Catholic Women of which she served as president. She enjoyed both flower and vegetable gardening and reading. She is survived by her children, Roberta (Ed) Kadrlik of Milladore, Kathleen (Scott) Murphy of Wisconsin Rapids, Greg (Margaret) Lobner of Onalaska, Colleen (Robert) Yusten of Nekoosa, Carla (John Hoffman) Lobner of Sherry, Stephen (Diane) Lobner of Rudolph, Donna (Joseph) Barney of Stevens Point and a son-in-law, Lester Bronk of Custer. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She is further survived by four sisters, Adeline Adams, Mary Jane Lane, Eileen Cherney, and Anna Rose Harris. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband; daughters, Susan Lobner and Deborah Bronk; a grandson, Kevin Kadrlik; a great grandson Caleb Cornwell and two brothers, Robert and Gary Koller.
