Gary James Mayek, born on January 28, 1979, a resident of Junction City, died unexpectedly on January 5, 2019 at the age of 39. A gathering will precede the funeral at St. Paul's Lutheran Church 1919 Wyatt Ave, Stevens Point, WI on Saturday, January 19th at 10:00 am, the funeral at 11:00 am. Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of Gary's life following the service at The Bahamas. The family is grateful for the condolences but declines flowers. Gary is survived by his parents, Jim and Judy (Becker) Mayek of Junction City, his brother, Paul Mayek and Tracy Nelson (Dustin) Lexi Nelson, niece, all of Stevens Point. He was a 1997 graduate of Stevens Point senior High School. Gary was a lover of Harley Davidson motorcycles. He enjoyed helping out his friends and family, loved trying new recipes, his garden and smoking meats. He was predeceased by his grandparents Donald and Gertrude Becker and Chester & Helen Mayek.
