Gary Lee Giles, 73, Marshfield, died on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at Marshfield Care Center after a long battle with Alzheimers disease. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, June 30, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Rev. Peter Manickam will officiate and Sacred Heart Church Funeral Choir will provide music. Burial will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. The visitation will be held from 4:30 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday at Rembs Funeral Home and from 9:30 am on Saturday until service time at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A Knights of Columbus rosary service will be held at 6:30 pm on Friday at the funeral home. Gary was born on December 4, 1937 in Marshfield to Donald and Mary (Aschenbrenner) Giles. He was a 1955 graduate of Columbus Catholic High School. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1960 and served for two years spending most of his time in Korea. Gary was united in marriage to Marjorie "Marge" Heiting on May 5, 1973 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Marshfield. He was employed at Data Flow Corporation in Marshfield for over twenty years until his retirement. He enjoyed numerous sporting events, especially the Columbus Dons, Milwaukee Bucks and Green Bay Packers. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and family. Gary loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was an honorary member of the Knights of Columbus, John Eisen Council #1799 and was also a religious member at Sacred Heart Church for over thirty five years. He survived by his wife, Marjorie and their son, Brian (Elizabeth) Giles, all of Marshfield. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Jeremiah, Trenton, and Alexander Giles. He is also survived by a sister, Donna Meyer Frane, of Marshfield, and two sisters-in-law, Lois Giles of Marshfield and Ruth Giles of Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Dale and Richard Giles and two brothers-in-law, Norbert Meyer and David Frane.
