Galen F. Hasenfang, 69, of Marshfield passed away peacefully at the Marshfield Medical Center on Thursday, March 10, 2022. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 am on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 10:00 am until service time. Deacon Ray Draeger will officiate. Galen was born in Marshfield to William and Irma (Thill) Hasenfang. He graduated from Marshfield Senior High and Mid-State Technical College in Wisconsin Rapids. On January 15, 1972, he married Rhonda Vogel at St. John's Catholic Church. Galen was an avid outdoorsman and was a member of the former Black River Bowman Club. He looked forward to rifle and bow whitetail deer season every year. It was no surprise to see him getting his hunting gear ready in July. He enjoyed fishing and small game hunting. Although, while hunting birds in Pennsylvania, his dog would catch the birds before he had a chance to shoot. He loved to teach his kids and grandkids everything he knew about being a safe outdoorsman. In his younger years, Galen was an outstanding athlete and especially enjoyed playing many softball seasons. Later in life, his love of sports continued as he enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in many sports. He was also a huge fan of the Packers and the Brewers. He enjoyed many miles of traveling throughout the United States and Canada with his family. Galen is survived by his wife of 50 years, Rhonda, and their three children, Josh Hasenfang of Marshfield, Rachelle (Gary) Erbst of Henderson, KY and Carissa (Jeff) Osness of Marshfield. He was blessed with four grandchildren, Hazel and Estelle Erbst and Jordyn and Jaxson Osness. He also had three step-grandchildren, Meriah Erbst, Skyla Paul and RaeAnna Erbst. He is further survived by siblings, Wilmer Hasenfang, Janet (Robert) Mikula, Norman (Coral Doescher) Hasenfang, Ellen Lorenzo, James (Patrice) Hasenfang, Mark (Susan) Hasenfang, his mother-In-Law, Rhea Mae Vogel, in Laws, Ruth Vogel, Robert (Joyce) Vogel, Frank (Kathleen Beck) Vogel Jr., Paula (Max) Navarro, Christine (Steven) Tysver, Kimberly (Richard) Keehner and Suellyn (Dennis) Wojcik, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Robert Hasenfang, a sister Leanne Hasenfang, his father-in-law Frank Vogel Sr. and brothers in law James Vogel, James Murray and Pascual Lorenzo and a nephew Jacob Navarro.
