Frederick “Fred” R. Brown, 87, Junction City, passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at Martens/Rembs Funeral Home in Junction City with visitation from 10:00 am until the time of service. Rev. Dr. Timothy Roser will officiate. Burial will follow at Runkel Cemetery, Junction City.

Fred was born on August 10, 1939 in the Town of Eau Pleine, Portage County to Fred and Martha (Neuman) Brown. He was united in marriage to Gertrude Kuzynski on April 29, 1961 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Junction City.

Fred worked a variety of jobs, but his true passion was farming. He loved deer hunting and fishing. He was also known for his ability to share a memorable story.

He is survived by his children, Judy (Brian) Brzezinski, Sandy (Kevin) Schnese, Jeff Brown, Dawn (Marv Kawlewski) Tryba, Frederick M. Brown, and Scott Brown, 15 grandchildren, and 25 great grandchildren, and 1 great grandson on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and siblings, Lorraine Yonke, Charles Brown, Edna Skibba, Kenneth Brown, Dorothy Jahns, and George Brown.
