Frederick J. Altmann, 86, died on Friday, October 17, 2014 at Morrow Memorial Home, Sparta. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at St. Kilian's Catholic Church, Blenker, with Rev. Jesse Burish officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends from 12:30 pm on Wednesday until service time at St. Kilian's Church. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family. Frederick was born on March 18, 1928 in Blenker, to John and Rose (Flateau) Altmann. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point where he majored in Mathematics. He had lived in Milwaukee where he was employed at Ladish Company for many years until his retirement. Fred was an avid reader. He is survived by a sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Jadack of Sparta and nieces, Rosemary Jadack, Margaret "Peggy" Jadack and Jane Jadack. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Virginia Altmann of Marshfield and her daughters, Diane and Linda. He was predeceased by his parents, 3 brothers, John "Jack" Altmann, Richard Altmann and Father Robert T. Altmann and a sister, Mary Rose Altmann. Condolences may be sent online to www.rembsfh.com
