Obituary

Francis William Haines, 99 of Marshfield, died Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at Three Oaks Golden Living Center where he has been a resident since January of 2006. A private graveside service will be at Hillside Cemetery in Marshfield. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements. Francis was born August 19,1912 in Montfort, Wisconsin to Robert and Gena (Helgerson) Haines. He moved to Clark County in 1920 with his parents. He attended Wild Rose Grade School and graduated from Granton High School in 1930. He farmed with his father until he purchased his own farm in 1938. He married Evelyn Dux on June 4, 1940. They operated a dairy, beef and poultry farm in the township of Grant for 32 years. He had a large egg route in the Marshfield area for many years until retiring and moving to Marshfield in 1972. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. In retirement, he was custodian for the Presbyterian Church for 18 years. He was an active member of the Senior Citizens Craft Shoppe and together with his wife, sold many of their own handcrafted items. He enjoyed woodworking and spent many hours making decorative and useful items for his family and friends. Francis is survived by Evelyn his wife of 71 years, 3 sons Kenneth (Carina) of Abbotsford; Lloyd of Elk Mound; Byron (Linda) of Orangeville, IL; a daughter Betty Ann (James) Becker of Marshfield; brothers Glenn (Nita) of Sparta; Eugene of Tomah, a sister Anna Liebzeit of Willard. He is further survived by 11 grandchildrena and 14 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Robert Earl in infancy; two sisters, Rebecca Goeser and Ella Gardner; three brothers-in-law, Alex Goeser, Russell Gardner and Arvin Liebzeit; two sisters-in-law, Val Haines and Dora Haines The family would like to thank the staff at Three Oaks Living Center for their kindness and the wonderful care Francis received during his stay.
