Dad loved many things in life, Mom was at the top of his list, but farming was the next. He grew up on a small farm in the Town of Spencer with his Mom and Dad, and three older brothers. He married mom and started his family life in the Town of Lynn farming. They moved to Marshfield to farm and raise six children. He retired from milking cows in his 70s, but was forced to retire from farming at age 90. He was an avid hunter all his life and enjoyed fishing and camping when he could get away. Many four wheeling trips were a blast. He had a passion for travel and saw many extraordinary places and was always happy to come home to the farm. He was a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1799 and member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. He at one time worked on a road crew, did some cattle trucking and was also a town board member. Not long ago he attended his first Packer game. Loved that! We were lucky to be able to take one last family trip with Dad. He wanted to see the Grand Canyon and his wishes came true. We know Dad and Mom are now soaring together to the places they missed! Dads favorite saying was "drink beer and talk smart". He was united in marriage to Harriet G. Rottscheit on November 20, 1946 at St. Johns Catholic Church in Marshfield. She passed away on June 16, 2011. Fritz is survived by his children, Charlene (Dale) Schmidt of Eau Claire, Richard Hannum of Marshfield, Robert (Jean) Hannum of Spencer, Sheila (Peter) Dietel of Marshfield, Lawrence (Christine) Hannum of Marshfield and Lori (Dennis) Budtke of Stratford. He is further survived by thirteen grandchildren, Renee, Rodney, Jeremiah, Jessica, Dustin, Sergio, Alissa, Emily, Scott, Jennifer, Alec, Nichole and Aaron; eight great grandchildren, Jackson, Denver, Mariah Jo, Ella, Ava, Noah, Kennedy and Reagan. Fritz also has a sister-in-law Mary Jane Hannum of Marshfield surviving. Besides his parents and wife Harriet, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua F. Dietel, three brothers Clarence and wife Alice, Omar and Troy Hannum. Memorials may be given in Fritzs name to the Marshfield Medical Foundation for cancer research.
