Frances A. Stashek, 87, Junction City, died on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at Strawberry Lane Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Wisconsin Rapids. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Milladore. Rev. Andrzej Panek will officiate and Catherine Warnecke will be organist for St. Wenceslaus Senior Choir. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery. The visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Martens / Rembs Funeral Home, Junction City and on Saturday from 9:00 am until service time at St. Wenceslaus Church, Milladore. A rosary service will be held on Friday at 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Frances was born on August 4, 1924 in Bratrejov, Czechoslovakia, the daughter of Frank and Frances (Tomsu) Gaydusek. As a child she came to the United States with her parents in 1927 settling in Washington County, Kansas where she received her education. She and Joseph Stashek were united in marriage on August 13, 1957 in Washington, Kansas. After their marriage the couple farmed in the Town of Carson, Portage County, where she raised chickens and sold eggs. She was an excellent cook, baker and seamstress. She was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church and the Parish Council of Catholic Women. She is survived by two daughters, Annette Stashek of Junction City and JoAnn (David) Matheus of Eagle. She is also survived by a grandson, Chris (Amy) Johnson of Menomonie Falls. She is further survived by a brother, Frank (Leona) Gaydusek of Mahaska, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on June 18, 1997, her twin sister at birth and a son at birth.
