Floyd L. Schultz, 82 of Marshfield entered everlasting life on Sunday, March 18, 2012 at Ministry St. Joseph Hospital in Marshfield. Funeral services will be 11am Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Christ Lutheran Church in Marshfield with Rev. Mark A. Krueger presiding. Mary Castern will provide music along with congregational singing. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Marshfield with Visitations will be from 4-8pm Wednesday at Rembs Funeral Home and again on Thursday at Christ Lutheran until time of service. Floyd was born on April 29, 1929 in Marshfield to Helmut and Vivian (Drake) Schultz. He was united in marriage to Mae B. Sommerlund on June 19, 1954 in Marshfield. Many people remember Floyd as the jovial man sitting behind the desk at L. Shapiro and Sons where he worked from 1944-1994. He started working for the company as a young boy and later years became a stock holder and manager of the operation. He also worked at West Marshfield Cheese Factory. Floyd was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous and celebrated 44 years of sobriety. He was proud to have helped many people also conquer their addictions. He viewed many of his fellow AA members as his extended family. Floyd relished his time in the outdoors and spent many hours 4-wheeling, hunting, fishing and simply admiring the wildlife on his wooded land. Floyd also enjoyed gun collecting. He is survived by his wife Mae, brother Victor (Janet) Schultz of Marshfield, nieces Kelly Schultz, Kari Schultz, Karmen Toungette and Lindsey (Jason) Johnson; great nephews, Klint Schultz and Wyatt Johnson and great niece Samantha Toungette. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Marshfield Medical and Research Foundation for diabetes research.
