Floyd W. "Bud" Harrison, 71, Fenwood, died peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at his home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Stratford, with Rev. John Robert Alphonse officiating. Burial will take place in Fenwood Cemetery and nephews will serve as pallbearers. Military rites will be conducted by The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #6352 of Stratford. The visitation will be held on Tuesday from 9:15 am until service time at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Sauter / Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Floyd was born on December 16, 1943 in Caruthersville, MO to Floyd and Hazel (Jones) Barnes, Jr. When he was 6 months old his mother died and he was raised by Margaret and John Harrison. After John Harrison's death, Margaret married Raymond Dorfschmidt.
He was an Order of the Arrow Eagle Scout Master.
Bud was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War. After his honorable discharge he was employed as a foreman at Wisconsin Homes for a number of years. He married Diane T. Bohman on October 20, 1972 and they then lived in Alaska where Bud was the maintenance man of Afognak Island, Alaska. They then lived in Florida where he was self employed as a cabinet maker. Later they returned to Wisconsin and he was employed at Liberty Homes in Dorchester until his retirement in 2001.
He is survived by his wife, Diane, a son, Brad Jacob Harrison, a son from a previous marriage, Troy Harrison, and a grandson, Troy Harrison, Jr. He is also survived by siblings, Velma (Carlos) Evans and Eddie (Peggy) Barnes, and Alliema Klampet all of Caruthersville, MO and Mary (George) Gonzalos of Westland, MI.
He was predeceased by his parents and his in-laws, Jacob and Armella Bohman.
