Obituary

Florence Theresa (Schueller) Weber, 95, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 8, 2013 at Golden Living Center, Three Oaks, Marshfield, where she had been a resident for the past several years. Private family services were held on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Sauter / Rembs Funeral Home, Stratford. Burial was in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Town of Eau Pleine. Florence, born on October 13, 1917, was the third of five children born to Nicholas and Anna (Kaiser) Schueller who farmed and logged near the wilderness Minnesota community of Strandquist. In 1928 the family moved by train from Minnesota to Marshfield in search of a better life and to rejoin relatives living in the area. In her youth Florence attended St. John's Parochial School and often found work cooking and housekeeping area homes. Later on she took employment sewing footwear at Weinbrenner Shoe Company, for whom she continued to work off and on throughout her life until retirement in 1981. On January 29, 1942 Florence married Willard Jerome Weber of Stratford at St. John's Catholic Church, Marshfield. The couple lived in the Stratford area raising their 2 sons, Robert and Gregory, until their divorce in 1970. Florence then returned to Marshfield where she lived until her passing. Growing up in the depression era gave Florence an appreciation for simple pleasures. Some of her most enjoyable moments were visiting a town's summer festival, going to a polka dance, playing and singing along to a self taught song on her keyboard, reworking an old blouse to look new and the companionship of a cherished pet. Surviving Florence are her sons, Robert of Marshfield and Gregory of Stratford, daughter-in-law, Carol (Theisen) Weber of Stratford, 2 grandchildren, Shawn Weber of Milwaukee, Erin (Paul) Crowley of Oshkosh and 2 great grandchildren. She is further survived by her brother Arthur Schueller of Marshfield. She was preceded in death by her parents and 3 siblings, Catherine Schueller, Rose Brandl and Lucille Junemann.
