Florence J. Thiel, 96, Marshfield, died on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at the House of the Dove. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at Rembs Funeral Home with Mr. Alan Tripp officiating. Burial will take place in Hillside Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Tuesday from 1:00 pm until service time. Florence was born on July 15, 1915 in Neillsville, the daughter of Fred and Anna (Martens) Stelloh. She was united in marriage to Elroy Thiel on December 22, 1937 in Decorah, Iowa. He died on November 20, 1984. The Thiels farmed in the Town of Lincoln for twenty years and moved to Marshfield in 1957. Florence was an avid gardener, a member of the Senior Choir, and enjoyed square dancing, knitting and crocheting. She is survived by two daughters, Charmaine Mursett and Florene Thiel. She is also survived by two granddaughters, Suzanne Mursett and Marjean Mursett and by two great grandchildren, Brianna Mursett-Simmods and Austin Mursett-Simmonds. She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers, Clarence, Frank and Alfred Stelloh and a sister Lorraine Zajac. Memorials may be designated in her name to House of the Dove Hospice Home.
