Florence A. Lauby, 101 of Marshfield on Adler Road died on Friday, August 12, 2011 at her granddaughters home, Stephanie Seitz in Dousman, WI. Funeral services will be 11am Saturday, August 20, 2011 at the Rembs Funeral Home with Rev. James Logan officiating. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Visitations will be from 9:30am until time of the service at the Rembs Funeral Home. Florence was born on August 2, 1910 in Milwaukee to Caesar and Anna (Staffler) Schneider. She attended St. Johns Parochial School and graduated from McKinley High School in Marshfield in 1929. Prior to her marriage, she worked at the Ford Garage (where the M & I Bank is located) and the Marshfield Grocer Co. on Central and First Street. She was united in marriage to Leander E. Lauby on September 2, 1933 at St. Johns Catholic Church in Marshfield. Leander passed away on January 6, 1984. After their marriage, her husband Leander had a rural newspaper routes and later started Lauby Home Appliance where she was the bookkeeper. They also operated Lauby Delivery Services which delivered newspapers and movie films to area cities. Florence is survived by 6 grandchildren, Stephanie (Jeff) Seitz of Dousman, Dr. Edwin (fiancйe, Tracie) Mathews, of Brookfield, John Mathews of Milwaukee, David Scheuer of Milwaukee, Linda (Paul Keevil) Lauby of Richmond, VA and Michelle (Kevin Smale) Lauby of Ft. Meyers, FL; 8 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren and her special daughter-in-law Yvonne (Larry) Shortess of Marshfield; Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her three children, James Lauby, Tom Lauby and Virjean Ebertsch, one brother and one sister.
