Florence A. Hastreiter (nee Link) passed away peacefully on September 9, 2021 with the same grace that she lived her life. Florence was born on December 23, 1931 in the town of Oshkosh to Alice and Archibald Link.
Florence was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Milton, Edgar, Gerald, Raymond and Marie.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Anthony Hastreiter and her children, Jeff Hastreiter, Diane Hastreiter, Steve (Gina) Hastreiter, Mary (Brian) Scheibe and Joe (Jenny) Hastreiter. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren that gave her great joy: Matthew (Danae), Sam, Nathan and Ava Hastreiter, Maddy, Maya and Reese Scheibe, Norah, Pierce and Reid Hastreiter, her loving sister, Lauralee Lenz and many nieces and nephews.
Florence married Anthony, the love of her life, on October 1, 1960 and devoted her life to her family and all things that made them happy: cooking, baking, sewing and knitting, and her flower and vegetable gardens. Above all, she was kind to everyone. She boldly followed Anthony on his wilderness adventures in Canada and Northern Wisconsin, and was a loving wife and companion to him always. Her children remember a childhood filled with the joy and warmth of a happy home.
There will be a small, private, family gathering to honor Florence in the upcoming weeks.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to her loving caregivers at The House of the Dove in Marshfield, Wisconsin, who made her last year as happy and comfortable as it could possibly be.
