Evelyn M. Grossbier, 97, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at Dove Health Care South, Eau Claire.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, January 15, 2023, at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, where the visitation will be from 12:00 pm until service time. Pastor Aaron Herman will officiate. The service will be livestreamed on www.facebook.com/rembsfuneralhomes.Burial will be at Ebenezer United Church of Christ Cemetery, Town of Cleveland, Marathon County.

Evelyn was born on March 20, 1925, in the Town of Cleveland, to Henry and Henrietta (Reichert) Hilgemann. She was a 1943 graduate of Stratford High School. She was united in marriage to Raymond F. Grossbier on August 20, 1947, at Ebenezer United Church of Christ. He died on March 24, 1999.

Evelyn resided in Marshfield where she was a devoted wife and mother and was a great cook. After raising her daughters, she was employed by the Marshfield Public School system working in the lunch program at Grant Elementary School. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her great grandchildren, who meant the world to her.

She is survived by her daughters, Linda (Gary) Heeler of Valders and Barbara (Scott) VonHolzen of Eau Claire. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Kinsey (Steven) Stensen, Craig (Rachael) Heeler, Kyle Heeler, and Kari (Matt) Stewart and 12 great grandchildren, Alyssa, Jordyn, Kendyl, Weston, Mason, Decker, Macie, Everly, Maddox, Fletcher, Lilly and Brelynn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother in infancy, sisters, Malinda Kachel, Gilsa Fuss, Elmira "Myra" Kupfer, Alma Hanley and Selma Hilgemann and brothers, Armand and Norman Hilgemann and a granddaughter-in-law Michelle Heeler.
