Evelyn M. Franz, 91, Marshfield, died on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Wells Nature View Assisted Living.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at St. John's Catholic Church, Marshfield, with Rev. Samuel Martin officiating. Burial will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Marshfield, and grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Rembs Funeral Home and on Saturday from 9:30 am until service time at St. John's Catholic Church.
Evelyn was born on November 10, 1923 in Chilton, Wisconsin to Paul and Theresa (Tilger) Tremmel. She was united in marriage to Warren F. Franz on June 12, 1948 at St. John's Catholic Church, Marshfield. He died on November 14, 2007.
Evelyn had been employed at Sunnyside Bakery and later Sears Store, both in Marshfield. She also was a Stanley Home Products Representative for many years. Evelyn was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and the Parish Council of Catholic Women of which she held every office in the group. She had served on the St. John's School Board and was instrumental in the formation of the Industrial Arts Program at Columbus High School. She enjoyed her card clubs and playing sheepshead.
She is survived by her children, John (Honey) Franz of Holcombe, Virginia "Ginger" Moline, Gary (Marjorie) Franz, all of Marshfield, Mark (Pam) Franz of Larsen, WI, Jennifer Franz of Marshfield, Gregory (Cindy) Franz of Eagle River, Robert Franz of Marshfield, Kelly (Kristi) Franz of Green Bay, Chad (Joann) Franz of Mondovi, and William (Claire) Franz of Sun Prairie. She is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. Evelyn is further survived by brothers, Ralph Tremmel of Mercer, and Harry Tremmel of Newald, a sister, Laurelda (Louis) Gadke of Marshfield and her step mother-in-law, Esther Franz of Marshfield.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Warren, an infant son, Martin DePaul, her father-in-law, Alfred Franz, a son-in-law, Kerwin Moline, a brother, Kenneth Tremmel, sisters, Margaruite Tremmel, Myrtle Weis, Madeline Mech, and a grandson, Nicholas Franz.
The family wishes to thank the staffs at Wells Nature View and Ministry Home Hospice for their compassion and care.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be designated in Evelyn's name to the charity of the donor's choice.
