Eunice M. Potts, 92, Stratford, died peacefully on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at House of the Dove, Marshfield. The family will hold a private memorial service. Eunice was born on February 14, 1921 in March Rapids, WI to Otto and Hazel (Vick) Guenther. She graduated from Stratford High School in 1939 as the class salutatorian. After high school she attended Marathon County Normal School graduating in 1941 and began teaching in a one room school house near Milan where she met her husband, Robert. She later taught at St. Joseph's School in Stratford, retiring in 1992. Eunice married Robert Potts on August 5, 1944 in Wuertzburg. He passed away on February 24, 1972. She was a long time member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in March Rapids. Eunice is survived by her 6 children, Gary (Eunice) Potts, Karen Pugh, Illa (Larry) Syring, Lois (Mike) Glinski, Jane (Richard) Lamermayer, and Kurt (Rita) Potts. She is also the proud grandmother of 15 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She is further survived by her sister Marcia Schoessow. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Eldred Otto in infancy, her husband Robert and a son-in-law, Lonnie Pugh. The family would like to thank the staff of Stoney River and especially Ministry Home Hospice and the House of the Dove.
