Eulalia Jane (Beaver) Spatz, 96, of Auburndale passed away on Sunday, June 18, at House of the Dove in Marshfield.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 23, 2023, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Murali Anand Rayappan. Burial will follow at St. Mary's cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jim Specht, Lori Ruess, Roxanne Spatz, Tom Haffenbredl, Fred Severt, Keith Spatz.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the time of services on Friday at the church.
She was born on July 9, 1926, in Loyal WI to Peter and Catherine (Haffenbredl) Beaver. When Jane was 5 years old, her sister 3, and her brother 2 weeks, their mother died of complications from childbirth. Her father, Peter, passed away just a few short months later. The children were raised by their loving grandparents Benedict and Albina Haffenbredl in Auburndale. Jane had many wonderful memories of growing up on her grandparents' farm. She attended Sunshine School, St. Mary's Catholic School and graduated from Auburndale High School in 1944. After graduation, Jane was employed by Consolidated Papers in Wisconsin Rapids.
She was united in marriage to Paul G. Spatz on October 22, 1946, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Auburndale. In 1948 they moved to their home on North Road in Auburndale, where Jane resided for 75 years.
After marriage Jane was employed at Worzella's Store, and Auburndale High School. She was a member of the St. Mary's Parish Council of Catholic Women. Jane enjoyed family gatherings, large and small. She was always happy to welcome her children's friends to her house, either for a meal or a weekend. She especially enjoyed cooking, baking, and gardening.
She is lovingly survived by her children Sue (Paul) Spatz Boehning of Marshfield and John (Elaine) Spatz of Auburndale. She is survived by 4 grandchildren: Steven (Cristina) Boehning of Faribault, MN; Rebecca (Andy) Radloff of Marshfield; Jordan (Kacie Anatole) Spatz of Marshfield; Marissa Spatz of Green Bay; and one great-grandchild: Brooks William Boehning. She is also survived by her sister Rosella (Norbert) Specht of Marshfield; her brother Peter (Annette) Beaver of Milladore; her brother-in-law LeRoy (Dorothy) Spatz of Sheboygan Falls and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Paul on August 11, 2013. Her parents, Eleanor (Melvin) Severt; Charlie (Rosie) Spatz; Peter (Bernadine) Spatz; Uncle Leo and Aunt Jennie Haffenbredl who she thought of as brother and sister.
The family would like to thank all of the wonderful caregivers from Marshfield Medical Center Palliative Care and the House of the Dove.
