Obituary

Eugene F. Seidl, 86, Hewitt, died on Monday, June 15, 2015 at House of the Dove, Marshfield. He died peacefully with his family at his side. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, June 19, 2015 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Hewitt, with Rev. Jesse Burish officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery and grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday at Rembs Funeral Home and from 9:30 am on Friday until service time at St. Michael's Catholic Church. A Knights of Columbus rosary service will be held at 6:30 pm on Thursday at the funeral home. Eugene was born on July 3, 1928 in Stratford to Frank and Ottilia (Krall) Seidl and attended St. Joseph's Parochial and Grant Elementary Schools in Stratford. He married Regina E. Bangart on May 26, 1952 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Rozellville. After their marriage the Seidl's farmed in the Town of Marshfield until 1962 when they moved to the Town of Auburndale where they continued to farm until their retirement in 1992. Gene was an Honorary Life member of the Knights of Columbus John Eisen Council #1799. He enjoyed traveling, smelt fishing, welding, building wagons, and bowling. He did custom field work for neighbors and was a Pride Seed Corn dealer for 40 years. He had a great sense of humor, was an honest hard worker and was the neighborhood fix-it man. He is survived by his wife Regina, 6 sons and 2 daughters, Ken of Port Washington, Glen (Vicki) Seidl of Stevens Point, Randy (Sue) Seidl, Steve Seidl, Tom (Deb) Seidl, Mary Lou Kollross (Ed), all of Auburndale, Dave (Amy) Seidl of Menasha, and Debbie Seidl of Appleton. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, Nick, Paul (Stephanie) Cindi, Carissa, Chad (Keisha), Rick (Kelly), Jill (Jay), Lucas (Courtney), Scott, Tanya, Lee (Valerie), Jessica, Melissa, Alyssa (Tim), and Tad, and 11 great grandchildren, Joshua, Elizabeth, Micaiah, Emma, Mason, Jackson, Mackenzie, Max, Madden, Elliott, Declan and two more expected. He is further survived by 4 brothers and a sister, Jerome Seidl of Seattle, Gerald (Nanette) Seidl of Arlington Heights, IL, Jeanette (Richard) Urmanski of Edgar, and twin brothers, Richard (Polly) Seidl of Minneapolis, and Robert Seidl of Auburndale, a brother-in-law, Ken Jors and a sister-in-law, Vicki Seidl. He was predeceased by his parents, a son, Daniel, a sister, Sylvia Jors and 2 brothers, Ervin and Roland Seidl, and numerous in-laws. The family will designate a memorial in Eugene's name at a later date. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Hewitt House for the care that was given to Gene and also the entire staff of the House of the Dove for their wonderful and compassionate care.
