Eugene E. Seefeldt, joined his bride in heaven on Saturday, June, 25, 2016.
Gene was born on November 5, 1932 on the family farm near Tigerton, Wisconsin to Edgar and Nettie (Lundt) Seefeldt.
He graduated from Tigerton High School in 1950, and proudly served in the United States Navy from 1952-1956 as a Sea Bee. He served in the Philippines as a driver for construction crews building air strips there. He achieved the rank of Petty Officer Second Class.
After leaving the Navy, he worked in Appleton at the Appleton Coated Paper company. He married Joan Sell on July 2, 1960. They celebrated 50 years together in 2010. She passed away on May 29, 2011.
He worked at Crystal Print in Little Chute until he purchased a carpet cleaning business, which he owned and operated until his retirement in 1998.
Gene and Joan moved to Greenwood after Joan's retirement and lived there for 6 years. They relocated to Marshfield in 2004 to be closer to family during Joan's illness. They made many good friends in their neighborhood.
Gene was so very proud of his grandchildren. He regularly "burst his buttons" sharing their accomplishments with his friends. As he said, "it's not bragging if it's true!" He enjoyed reading, traveling with Joan, Sudoku puzzles and having breakfast at McDonalds with his breakfast bunch.
Gene was a former member of First English Lutheran Church in Appleton, Faith Lutheran Church in Marshfield, and was a current member of Christ Lutheran Church.
Gene was working hard to recover from a fall in March. He was making plans to return home within a few weeks. His family is very thankful for the kindness and care he received at Bethel Center in Arpin.
Gene is survived by his children: Kevin (Jeannie) of Kenosha, and Lisa (David) Carroll of Pittsville as well as his grandchildren, Madeline and Jack Seefeldt and Tim and Emily Carroll. He also leaves a sister, Lois Marquardt of Marion, a brother David (Sharon Nelson) in Colorado, and a sister-in-law, Elaine Grosskopf of Wausau as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Christ Lutheran Church in Marshfield on Friday, July 1 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation an hour before the service. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
