Obituary

Eugene A. Richardson, 92, of Hayward and formerly of Milladore, passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at House of the Dove, Marshfield with his family by his side. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Martens / Rembs Funeral Home, Junction City, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 9:00 am on Wednesday until service time. Deacon Ray Draeger will officiate. Burial will take place in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, Milladore, where military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post 0468 of Milladore. Eugene was born on September 29, 1926 in Sherry, WI, the son of Arnold and Marie (Linzmaier) Richardson. He was a graduate of Auburndale High School in 1944. He married Lorraine E. Jadack on June 14, 1950. She died on September 16, 2003. Eugene proudly served our country from 1945 until his honorable discharge in 1948 and was a member of the American Legion in Milladore since that time. Eugene and Lorraine owned a dairy farm in Milladore for many years. He also operated a milk route early in his career. They spent many happy years of retirement in Hayward, WI. Throughout his life, he particularly enjoyed spending time outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and time spent in the woods by his home. He cut and split his own firewood, even at the age of 92. Many lessons were learned over the years from his example. He was kind, hard-working, and lived his life with a heart of gratitude. Gene is survived by his children, Jeffrey (Sue) Richardson of Milladore, Ann Ellis of Trapper Creek, Alaska, Randy (Suzie) Richardson of Hayward, Gary Richardson of Palmer, Alaska, Bruce (Denise) Richardson of Trapper Creek, Alaska, Loralee (Mark) Springer of Florence, WI and Michelle (Troy) Dillinger of Stratford. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. He is further survived by sisters, Joan Vruwink of Auburndale and Natalie Kelnhofer of Wisconsin Rapids. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Marie, stepfather, John Wolfe, his wife, Lorraine, sons, Stuart, Rodney, Arlyn, and Arnold, and grandchildren, Christine and Coleman Richardson.
