Elton R. Shaw, 84 of Marshfield died on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at the Marshfield Care Center. Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30am Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Sabastian Venni officiating. Dorothy Gehrke along with Sacred Heart Funeral Choir will provide the music for the service. Burial will be in Brooklawn Memory Gardens Cemetery in the town of Richfield, Wood County. Visitations will be from 4-8pm Monday, October 22, 2012 at the Rembs Funeral Home and again on Tuesday at the church from 9:30am until service time. Elton was born in Neillsville on March 12, 1928 to Ray and Anita (Halle) Shaw. He moved with his parents to Marshfield in 1942. In his early years he ran a trucking company, hauling lime to farmers in Wood, Clark and Marathon Counties. When fields were too wet to spread lime, he and his men cut iron and cleaned metals. Eventually, he stopped trucking and started Shaw's Wrecking Yard. He was united in marriage to Cecilia B. Gosar on January 29, 1955 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard. The celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2005. Elton is survived by his wife Cecilia and four children, Joan (David) Boehning, Jean (John) Burkart, Theresa Shaw and Thomas (Betty) Shaw all of Marshfield. He is further survived by nine grandchildren, Nichole Boehning and Joshua Boehning both of St. Paul, MN, Jacob Boehning of Marshfield, Lukas Boehning of Eau Claire, Cecily Shaw of Marshfield, Zachary Shaw of Prairie du Sac, Denise (Michael) Lindau of Marshfield, Anita Burkart and Jared Burkart both of Marshfield; two great grandchildren, Natalie and Max Lindau.
