Ellene Grace Syring Griebel Rendmeister age 95 of Marshfield, passed away on April 5, 2026.

Ellene was born January 22, 1931, in a small house in Bennett, IA to William and Frieda (Wulf) Syring. She attended Bennett Community Schools and graduated from Tipton High School in 1948. Throughout high school she worked at Lindy’s grocery store, Carl’s grocery store and a local restaurant. She got married to her first husband Richard Griebel in 1948. While she was married, she had two children. In 1977 they moved to Wisconsin. She started at Weinbrenner Shoe Factory in Marshfield in 1978 retiring in 1993. She married Clarence Rendmeister in 1992. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Marshfield and was involved in the quilting group and helped with the church paper. Her favorite hobby was quilting as she made tons of quilts for missions, children and grandchildren. She also loved being a grandmother to her 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Everyone who has ever met her loved her infectious laughter, happy attitude and joking personality.

She is survived by sister, Charlotte Seligman of Durant, IA; daughter Renae (Mike) Adams of Avondale, AZ; son Rick (Heidi) Griebel of Merrill; granddaughter Jessica (Austin) Halfmann of Merrill; grandsons Richard Griebel of Merrill; Bryn (Chloe) Van Hecker of Merrill; Jonathan Adams of Avondale, AZ; great-granddaughters Jordis Woodie of Merrill; Justina Woodie of Merrill; Great-grandsons Zachariah Halfmann of Merrill; Mack Halfmann of Merrill; many special nieces and nephews throughout the US; best friend Nancy Regner of Marshfield.

Ellene was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Rendmeister; brother Raldo Syring; sisters Clarinda Lynch and Evelynn Kleppe; niece Sally Hollman; great-nephew Dennis Kleppe Jr. and her parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, April 13, 2026 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Marshfield with visitation from 10:00 am until the time of service. Rev. Donn Radde will officiate. Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield is assisting the family.
