Betty J. Fassler, 85 of Marshfield died peacefully in her sleep at home on April 11, 2014. Betty was born in Marshfield on October 18, 1928 to John N. and Nora (Herman) Schmitt. She grew up in Marshfield and attended St. Johns School and graduated from Marshfield High School in 1946 where she was a member of the National Honor Society. After high school, Betty worked at the Marshfield Clinic until she married Paul L. Fassler on May 29, 1954. She stayed home for several years to raise her four children. The family moved to Milwaukee in 1961 where Paul owned and operated the South Shore Pharmacy until his death in November of 1968. The family returned to Marshfield in 1970. Betty worked at the Marshfield Clinic again from 1971 until she retired in 1992. After her retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Betty is survived by her children: Paul (Jacki) of Marshfield and their son Kegan; Lisa Fassler of Hales Corners and her daughter Elise Schulhauser; Amy Fassler of Marshfield and her daughters Emily and Carly Barker; and Sara (Chris) Huettl of Marshfield and their children Maggie, Isaac and Sam. Besides her husband and parents, Betty was preceded in death by her brothers Donald, James and Robert Schmitt and her sisters Germaine Christensen, Fidelia Atwood, Carol Koenig and Ellen Greenwood. Funeral services will be 1:30pm Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at the Rembs Funeral Home with Fr. James Logan officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery with her grandchildren as pallbearers. Visitations will be on Monday from 4-7pm at the Rembs Funeral Home and again on Tuesday from 12:30pm until time of services. There will be a Parish Council of Catholic Women Rosary service on Monday at 4pm at the Rembs Funeral Home.
