Elizabeth E. "Babe" Blum, 102, died on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at the Marshfield Care Center. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Marshfield, with the Rev. Sebastain Venni officiating. Burial will take place in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Marshfield. The visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9:30 am until service time at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family. Elizabeth was born on May 21, 1911 in Pittsville, Wisconsin, the daughter of Hugh and Catherine Strnad McLaughlin. She resided in Pittsville until her marriage to Gordon W. Blum on February 3, 1945 in Pittsville. She then moved to Marshfield with Gordon where she lived until her death. Gordon died on April 9, 1979. Elizabeth worked for the Weinbrenner Shoe Company for 16 years, and also worked for a local dentist as a receptionist. She was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers and three sisters.
