Edwin R. Powell, 92 of Marshfield died on Tuesday morning, August 11, 2009 at St. Joseph's Hospital Palliative Care Unit. Private funeral services and visitations will be Friday at Rembs Funeral Home in Marshfield. Burial will be in Brooklawn Memory Gardens Cemetery in the town of Richfield, Wood County, WI. Edwin was born August 28, 1916 in Marshfield to John and Caroline (Freund) Powell and attended Marshfield area school and was employed by the SooLine Railroad for 35 years, retiring as a section foreman in August 1976. He was united in marriage to Emma E. Cox on March 25, 1939 in Marshfield and had just celebrated 70 years of marriage. He is survived by his wife Emma, daughter Glenda Miller of Marshfield; three grandchildren, Jason Powell of Minnesota, Angela (Russ) School of Wittenberg, and Brian R. (Lianne) Miller of Pennsylvania; five great grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter and a daughter-in-law Sharon (Dwight) Dole of Dresser. Edwin was preceded in death by his parents, son Robert E. Powell, two brothers, Henry and Frederick, and two sisters, Alice and Esther.
