Edna M. Heiting, 87 of Marshfield died on Sunday morning, November 10, 2013 at the Palliative Care at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. Visitations will be from 11am-2:00pm Wednesday at the Rembs Funeral Home followed by the burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Marshfield. Edna was born on January 20, 1926 in Marshfield to William and Frances (Smolinski) Patt. Edna graduated from Marshfield Senior High School and was united in marriage to Richard F. Heiting on October 21, 1946 at St. John's Catholic Church in Marshfield. He passed away on October 20, 1996. Among our mother's most loved qualities were her warmth, beauty, intelligence and humor. Edna thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family. She was very proud and supportive of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mom enjoyed life with her husband in all of their journeys. Gardening, square dancing, cooking and reading were some of her favorite pastimes. After retirement, Mom and Dad enjoyed spending time together traveling. She is survived by her children, Tom (Gail Nirva-Heiting) Heiting of Janesville, Barb Gumz of Marshfield, Mary Jedlicki of Plymouth, MN, Paul Heiting of Lake Stevens, WA, Betty (Bill) Jonas of Granton; 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She is further survived by two sisters Shirley (Jim) Brown of St. Paul, MN and Jeri Brosnan of Beloit. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law Jerry Gumz and a sister Olive Brown. "A mother holds her children's hands for awhile, but their hearts forever."
