Edith P. Schweikl, 97 of Marshfield died peacefully on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at the House of The Dove in Marshfield.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11am Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Savarimuthu Selvalaj officiating. Dorothy Gehrke along with Sacred Heart Funeral Choir will provide the music. Burial will be in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Marshfield.
Family and friends will gather on Wednesday at the church from 9:30am until time of services.

Edith was born on April 14, 1917 in Drinkwater, Saskatchewan, Canada to William and Martha (Boevers) Watson. She received her education in Drinkwater schools and at the age of 19, immigrated to the United States. She was employed by the Robert Nesbit Family as housekeeper and nanny.
She was united in marriage to Harold J. Schweikl on January 5, 1938 in Marshfield.
After their marriage, they farmed in the town of Lincoln then moved to the town of Richfield in 1943 . Besides farming with her husband, Edith was employed as a cook at Sacred Heart School's Hot Lunch Program. She later provided day care for many neighborhood children for many years.
Harold passed away on May 17, 1997 and she continued to live on the farm until October 2005 when she moved to the Aster Retirement Community in Marshfield.
Edith was a member of Sacred Heart and its PCCW organization. She enjoyed visiting, attending family gatherings and playing cards. In their younger years, Harold and Edith loved to square dance.
She is survived by two daughters, Marjorie (Eugene) Zygarlicke of Marshfield and Nancy (Bob) Hartl of Marshfield; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren. She is further survived by two brothers, John (Mae) Watson of Saskatchewan, Canada and Gordon (Shirley) Watson of Alberta Canada.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, 3 sisters, 2 brothers and a son in infancy.
