Earl J. Joswiak, 81, Stratford, passed away on Monday, December 22, 2025 at Stoney River Assisted Living.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, December 29, 2025 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Stratford with visitation from 10:00 am until the time of service. Rev. Eric Mashak will officiate. The service will be streamed online at www.facebook.com/rembsfuneralhomes. Burial will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery where military rites will be conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6352 of Stratford. Sauter/Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Earl was born on August 3, 1944 in Stratford, the son of Vincent and Lucille (Roggenbauer) Joswiak. He attended St. Joseph's Parochial School, Stratford, and was a 1962 graduate of Stratford High School. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving during the Vietnam era from 1962 until his honorable discharge in 1964.
Earl was employed at Kenwood Homes in Stratford and then in Rapid City, South Dakota. He then worked as a welder at Highway Trailer Company in Edgerton and later at H & S Manufacturing for twenty-four years. Lastly, he was the maintenance man at St. Joseph's School, Stratford, for eleven years.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, making wine and his dogs.
Earl is survived by two brothers and a sister, Roman (Elaine) Joswiak of Stratford, Leone Funk of Racine and Robert (Sharon) Joswiak of McFarland, and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, brother, Rueben Joswiak, brother in law, Raymond Funk, nephew, Cale Funk, and great nephew, Corey Joswiak.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the caring staff at Stoney River Assisted Living, the wonderful staff from Heartland Hospice, Earl's caring neighbors who helped look after him while he was at home, Father Mashak for visiting, blessing, and praying for him, and a special thank you to Jeff and Ann Joswiak for being Earl's special earthbound angels during his final months.
