Duane A. "Jim" Schwarz, age 90, passed away after a battle with colon cancer on Friday, June 13, 2025.

He was born in Chicago, Ill. on April 17, 1935, to Gertrude and Lester Schwarz who preceded him in death. Dua ne grew up in Perkinstown, WI. He spent three years in the army at the Missile base in Milwaukee, WI, where he met his wife of 65 years, Shirley Schwarz (née Orava). He retired from the service and returned to the Perkinstown area and started working for Payne & Dolan Construction which he did for over 30 years.

Duane "Jim" loved to hunt, fish, snowmobile and garden.

Together he and his wife had two children - a son Daniel Schwarz, and a daughter Karen Anderson. He also leaves one grandson Jacob Nernberger (Kendall) of Spencer, WI and one granddaughter Emily Anderson (friend Oliver Whitlowe) of England and three great grandsons, Liam, Finley, and Felix, brother Wesley Schwarz (Mary) Medford, sisters Judy Anderson (Gary) and Sharon Nyberg, and sister-in-law Mary Orava.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A visitation is scheduled from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm on Friday, June 20, 2025 at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield. Burial will take place at 1:00 pm on Monday, June 23, 2025 at the Perkinstown Community Cemetery.
