Douglas J. Baltus, age 62, Chili, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes, on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at his home in the Town of Fremont, Clark County.

Private family memorial services will be held at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield.

Douglas was born on November 30, 1962, in Marshfield, to Sylvester and Bernadine (Gessert) Baltus and was a 1981 graduate of Marshfield Senior High School. He married Sheri L. Krasselt on May 7, 1988, at St. John's Catholic Church, Marshfield.

After his education, Doug began a long-time employment at Land 'O Lakes in Spencer until his recent retirement.

Doug was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, tinkering in his shed, and even just sitting on the deck. He and his friend Jim enjoyed hunting out west. He loved his family and enjoyed family events.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Sheri, and their children, Raylee (Anthony) Klein of Marshfield, and Brandon (fiance – Savannah) Baltus of Marshfield. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Wyatt, Wesley, Harper, Haisley Klein, and Matilda Baltus. He is further survived by his mother, Bernadine Baltus of Marshfield, and siblings, Donna (Dale) Vilbaum, Paul (Alice) Baltus, Linda (Terry) Schraeder, Jerry (Dianna) Baltus, Michael (Patsy) Baltus, Jane (Tim) Schmitz, and Lisa (Dave) Schnitzler.

He was preceded in death by his father, Sylvester, and a sister, Diane in infancy.
