Douglas A. Tielbur, 72, Marshfield, passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2026 at his home.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Doug was born on September 20, 1954 in Spencer, Iowa to Frank and Shirley (Madsen) Tielbur. He was united in marriage to Janet Graves on December 15, 1994 in Marshfield.

Doug loved the outdoors, fishing, gardening, tinkering, and spending time with his friends and loved ones. He especially enjoyed riding around looking for albino deer, particularly albino bucks. He was always looking for ways to help and care for others, including putting up pipe railings along the walls going down to the basement so no one would fall, reminding them to “hang on to them.” Doug loved pizza—both making it at home and eating it out—and he made the best goulash. One of his wishes was to make it to his 72nd birthday, and he did.

He is survived by his wife, Janet, son, Brandon Goff of Spencer, IA, stepdaughter, Kristen (Kevin) Giebel, granddaughter, Kari Giebel, and grandson, Kyle Giebel.

He is further survived by his sisters, Julie of Spencer, IA and Barb of Early, IA and special aunt, Allie Hayes.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Shirley Tielbur and brother, Michael Tielbur.
