Obituary

Dorothy M. Zepplin, 93 of Marshfield entered eternal life on Saturday, October 17 at Atrium Post Acute Care in Marshfield. A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday October 21, at Zion United Methodist with Pastor Mike Carlson officiating. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery, Marshfield. Dorothy's family and friends are invited to celebrate her life from 6 to 8pm at Rembs Funeral Home in Marshfield on Tuesday and from 10am until time of services on Wednesday. Dorothy was born April 4, 1922 in Marshfield to Harry and Wilma (Sersch) Stroetz. She received her education at West Kerwin School and then attended the Wisconsin State School of Beauty Culture in Milwaukee. She graduated and practiced at various beauty shops. Later on she worked at various jobs with the most recent being at Modern of Marshfield. She retired from there in 1981 to take care of Jack after he suffered a stroke. She was married to John "Jack" Zepplin on May 16, 1942 in Marshfield. They farmed in the town of McMillan until moving to Stratford in 1973. They enjoyed traveling, square dancing, and spending time at their cottage on the flowage. Dorothy was involved in the Stratford Homemakers. She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church where she was involved with the Ladies Aid Society and helping with the Wednesday night fellowship meals. She also volunteered at the Marshfield Care Center where Jack was a resident. Over the years she enjoyed doing many crafts including knitting numerous afghans and making beaded Christmas ornaments for her family to enjoy. Dorothy is survived by her four sons: Walter (Darlene) Zepplin of Baraboo, Jerry (Sherry) Zepplin of Rockford, Ken (Marge) Zepplin of Marshfield, and Ron (Nona) Zepplin of Stratford. She is further survived by 10 grandchildren: Scott (Pam) Zepplin, Tracey Sly, Tammy (Rick) Schwab, Steven (Wendi) Zepplin, Kelly (John) Sprayberry, Kim Bauer, Tim (Kelli) Zepplin, Dan (Dani) Zepplin, Amber Schultz, and Jesse Zepplin, and 26 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack, her parents, her sisters Bernadine & Caroline, and brothers William & Robert. Condolences may be sent online to www.rembsfh.com
