Obituary

Dorothy M. Salzwedel-Bidwell, 88, Marshfield, died on Monday, September 5, 2016 at Golden Living Center, Three Oaks in Marshfield. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Marshfield, with Rev. Jon Guenther officiating. Burial will take place in Brooklawn Cemetery, Town of Richfield, and serving as pallbearers will be granddaughters, Tammy, Sherry, Amber, Kim, Angie, Melissa, Candace and Jamie. The visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm and on Thursday from 10:00 am until service time, all at Trinity Lutheran Church. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family. Dorothy was born on March 31, 1928 in Cary Bluff, the daughter of Fay and Ida (Blackburn) Burt. She attended schools in Cary Bluff and Granton. She married Earl Erickson and they divorced. She then married Gordon Salzwedel who died on July 8, 2004. She then married Robert Bidwell who died on April 1, 2010. Dorothy was a homemaker, farm wife, and worked as a nursing assistant at St. Joseph's Hospital, the Marshfield Convalescent Center, and also did home care. She is survived by five children and 16 grandchildren, Eugene E. (Beatrice) Erickson; Sharon (Jim) Stargardt and their children, Jim (Brenda) Stargardt, Tim (Sherrie) Stargardt, Tammy (Ed) Stargardt, and Kim (Theresa) Stargardt ;Karen's children Terry (Dawn) Foss, Sherri Weis & Steve; Gordon (Marsha) Salzwedel, Jr. and their children, Matthew (Renee) Salzwedel, Amber Salzwedel, and Travis Salzwedel; Michael (Beth) Salzwedel and their children, Kevin Salzwedel, Kim Salzwedel and Angie Salzwedel; and Paul (Rose) Salzwedel and their children, Melissa (Marcus) Salzwedel, Candace (Mike) Salzwedel, and Jamie (Cody) Salzwedel. She is also survived by 32 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, her husbands, a daughter, Karen Hilton, 3 grandchildren, a sister, LaFaye (Kuechenmeister) Smith and a brother, Robert Burt.
