Dorene M. Mozdzierz, 87, Pittsville, passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at Three Oaks Health Service.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at St. Joachim Catholic Church, Pittsville with Father Leo Raphael officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joachim Cemetery, Pittsville and serving as pallbearers will be Michael Scheurer Jr, Matthew Scheurer, Shawn Quinlan, Jesse Scott, Joshua Scott, and Markus Kleifgen.

Visitation will take place from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm on Monday, December 29, 2025 at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield and from 10:00 am until the time of service on Tuesday at the church.

Dorene was born on December 30, 1937 in Pittsville to Aloysius and Marie (Koppen) Kleifgen.

Dorene attended Veedum School for grades 1-3, St. Joachim for grades 4-8, and Maryheart High School, graduating in 1955. Following high school, she worked at the Old's Locker Plant.

On November 4, 1967, Dorene was united in marriage to Edward Mozdzierz. He passed away on June 18, 2010.

After her marriage, Dorene worked for Indian Creek Cranberry and later Cutler Cranberry in City Point, where she worked for 45 years. She also served the community faithfully as the Town of City Point Treasurer for 11 years. Dorene was secretary and president of WFLA Lodge 408 - City Point.

She was also a devoted member of St. Joachim's Martyrs Chapel. She was always very involved in her church, serving as president of the P.C.C.W. for about 20 years, as a parish council intern, Eucharistic minister, and lector.

In 1991, Dorene moved back to the Pittsville area. She grilled chicken for 25 years, enjoyed being around people, and took pride in partnerships with two nieces who leased Pinecrest. Her hobbies included gardening, flowers, trips to the casino, and baking - especially orange slice cake.

She is survived by her sister in law, Eleanor Grimm of Elk Grove Village, IL, nieces and nephews, Deb (Mike) Scheurer, Tammy (Dale) Steponik, Mark (Johnalee) Kleifgen, Rosie Kleifgen (Terry Quinlan), Brenda Kleifgen, Mike (Lisa) Kleifgen, Matt (Holly) Kleifgen, and Louie Kleifgen (Heather Johnson) and great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Donald (Joan) Kleifgen, sisters in law, Marie Novak, Stella Kucha, and Sophie Bowids, and nephew, Greg Kleifgen.
