Dora B. Sullivan, 103, Marshfield, died peacefully on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at Touch of Home Assisted Living. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at St. John's Catholic Church, Marshfield, with Rev. Samuel Martin officiating. Burial will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and granddaughters will serve as honorary pallbearers. The visitation will be held from 9:00 am on Saturday until service time at St. John's Church. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family. Dora was born on July 18, 1910 in Eden, Wisconsin, to Ben and Anna (Bartelmess) Pember. She attended Shady Nook School in the Town of Richfield and graduated from McKinley High School, Marshfield. She then attended Wood County Normal School and taught school for 6 years in Wood County schools. She married Russell Sullivan on November 10, 1934 at St. Michael's Parsonage in Hewitt. The Sullivan's lived in the Marshfield area where Russell was employed by the Wood County Highway Department. In 1944 they moved to Wisconsin Rapids where Russell was Wood County Highway Commissioner from 1944 until 1976. After retirement Dora and Russell lived in Wisconsin Rapids until 1987 when they moved to Marshfield to be near family. After Russell's death in 1988 Dora continued to reside in Marshfield. Dora and Russell enjoyed traveling including a trip to Ireland and spent many winters in Florida after retirement. Dora's family was the center of her life and she so loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an accomplished seamstress and made much of her clothing as well as her daughters when they were young. She tied quilts for the entire family and was a wonderful cook and baker and her rolls and kolaches were loved by all. She was an avid fan of the Packers, Badgers and Marshfield Tigers. She is survived by her children, Robert (Sandra) Sullivan of Rhinelander, Maureen O'Brien of Marshfield, Kathleen (Peter) Borens of Marshfield, and Patrick (Dianne) Sullivan of Wisconsin Rapids, and a daughter-in-law Sharon Sullivan of Wausau. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, Shawn (Debra) Sullivan, Shannon (Michael) Murray, Scott Sullivan, Shane Sullivan, Kelli Sullivan, Colleen (Tal) Coppenger, Corrine (Doug) O'Brien-Mauritz, Michael (Carolyn) O'Brien, Sue Sullivan, Michael (Chris) Sullivan, Brian Sullivan, Daniel (Courtney) Sullivan, Kristi (Chad) Smith, Paul (Linda) Borens, Kari (Thomas) Lazers, Greg (Joan) Borens, Shelley (Chadd) Krueger, and Holly (Robert Rexrode) Sullivan. She is further survived by 27 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, a son, John L. Sullivan, a son-in-law, Thomas O'Brien, 2 great grandsons, Nathan and Ryan, 2 sisters, Eleanor Kroening and Loretta Esser and 2 brothers, Allan and Clifton Pember.
